The Newspaper printing plates are usually genuine PS plates, which are pre coated with photosensitive resin plates. They are offset plates formed by pre coating photosensitive liquid on the surface of aluminum plates. It consists of an aluminum substrate, an oxide layer, a hydrophilic layer, and a photosensitive layer.

1. Plate base: The carrier of printing plate images and texts, which serves as a support for the photosensitive layer.

2. Oxide layer: After anodizing the substrate, a hard oxide film will form on the surface of the substrate. This oxide film has strong adsorption, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, and can firmly connect the photosensitive adhesive layer to the aluminum substrate.

3. Hydrophilic layer: A hydrophilic film layer formed after anodization and sealing.

4. Photosensitive layer: A photosensitive liquid composed of photosensitizers, film-forming resins, organic solvents, dyes, etc. is coated on the surface of the printing plate substrate and formed after drying.

With the continuous improvement of people's requirements for the quality of newspapers, how to improve the printing quality of newspapers has become the focus of attention for major newspaper companies. In terms of the appearance quality of newspapers, issues such as stripes, stickiness, and dirt mainly occur in the production and use of PS editions.

When the PS version leaves the factory, each printing plate must be protected by a backing paper, so there are usually no scratches on the printing plate before opening the packaging. However, during the process of making printing plates on the publishing machine and the operator printing on the machine, any irregular steps can cause scratches.

1. The protective glue concentration of the plate making machine must be appropriate. If it is too large, it is not easy to remove it on the machine; If it is too small, it will not provide protection and is an important cause of scratches and smears.

2. The printing plate to be printed must be placed relative to the graphics and text. Improper placement can easily cause scratches.

3. Operators should handle the bending carefully. Bending corners can easily damage the graphics and text on the printing plate.

4. The water roller and ink roller should always be kept free of foreign objects.

5. Before starting the machine, conduct a final inspection of the aluminum printing plate in front of the light. Under strong light, scratches on the printing plate will flicker brightly and are easily caught by the naked eye.

If scratches are found before starting the machine, gently apply sheet protective adhesive to the scratches and the problem will be solved. Due to the selective adsorption of the substrate, it is no longer hydrophilic, and it is useless to apply protective adhesive after startup.
